Fabric Wax
fab·ric wax | noun | *\ˈfa-brik ˈwaks*
A time-honoured protective dressing for cloth and canvas.
A traditional preparation applied to natural fabrics, chiefly canvas and cotton, for the preservation thereof; imparting a durable, water-shedding and stain-resisting quality, whilst maintaining the cloth’s natural breathability.
In use long before the introduction of modern coatings, Fabric Wax was relied upon for workwear, outdoor gear, and maritime apparel. By bonding directly to the fibres, it strengthens the cloth and affords defence against rain, dirt, and hard wear, employing heritage methods rather than synthetic finishes.
