Rewaxing & Waterproof Restoration

Many older waxed jackets become dry, brittle or lose water resistance over time. After repairs are completed, jackets can also be professionally rewaxed to help restore weather protection and extend the life of the fabric.

This process helps: restore water resistance, nourish dry waxed cotton, improve flexibility, reduce any further damage and preserve the jacket’s lifespan.

Frequently asked question

Not always — and that is often part of the appeal. Our focus is on durable restoration while preserving the garment’s original character.

Typical repairs take 1 to 2 weeks. If more extensive repairs are needed we may need longer.

Mostly. Tears, worn seams, damaged cuffs and fabric issues can all be repaired depending on the condition of the garment. If the garment is too far gone we will let you know.

Yes, we can fix most internal jacket parts from stretched liners to shorten lengths of arms.

Yes, provided they are on the external jacket. Most repairs are hot wax sealed for extra protection and durability.

Repair Philosophy

A properly repaired waxed jacket should still look authentic. Not fake and flashy.

We believe heritage garments should retain their history and character rather than look artificially “new.” Repairs are completed with durability and longevity in mind while respecting the original garment as much as possible.
